Cars, guns, knives, flashlights, backpacking gear, and multi-tools. These things ARE cool but it is not the 1970s anymore with just a few cool things to choose from. We are fortunate to have an amazing amount of choice in these items now and it just rocks. But we can still make some bad choices and waste our money if we are not careful. In this video I explain how each item actually has TWO KINDS OF COOL: PERFORMANCE within its category and the intrinsic ENJOYMENT it provides its owner. As a reviewer striving for high integrity, I will scrutinize PERFORMANCE of that item in areas I deem that are important and strive to quantify them. For a car, like the excellent 350Z example, I will look at such attributes as quality, durability, maintenance costs, resale value, MPG, acceleration, cornering, cargo capacity, ergonomics, technology, ease of use, cost of insurance, and overall value. The overall question I ask is how does the specific item perform within its category against its competitors. Yes my own preferences come into play during the process but that helps make it interesting and useful to others. During performance scrutiny and detailed analysis we should keep an open mind and investigate all possibilities BEFORE spending our hard earned and limited money. Sometimes guys (and gals) get confused though and they let the 2nd kind of cool, ENJOYMENT, override their purchase decision.
